The LakeHawks came out strong, challenging Pensacola State early and forcing the Pirates to respond. PSC rallied in the third set and was able to push the match to five, showing resilience and determination. Despite a hard-fought effort from both sides, Lake Sumter's aggressive play in the final set secured them the win.
Statistical Highlights:
- Setters Schuessler and Judge both earned double-doubles: Schuessler posted 30 assists and 12 digs, while Judge added 16 assists and 11 digs
- Reece Varden led the offense with 14 kills and four blocks
- Libero Addison Danforth recorded a career-best 27 digs, marking her second-highest dig count as a freshman
Pensacola State 2, St. Johns River 3
(25-20, 20-25, 17-25, 25-22, 9-15)
In a gritty five-set battle, Pensacola State and St. Johns River went point-for-point, keeping fans on edge throughout the match. PSC fought hard, taking the fourth set to force a fifth, but ultimately fell short as the Vikings clinched the win.
Statistical Highlights:
- Varden delivered 17 kills with just one error
- Catie Woolf earned a double-double with 13 kills and 15 digs
- Schuessler led the offense again with 30 assists and added two kills
- Olivia McDaniel and Danforth each contributed 12 digs
Pensacola State 3, FSCJ 0
(25-16, 25-12, 25-22)
The Pirates closed out the weekend with a dominant sweep over FSCJ, bouncing back from two tough losses. Determined to finish strong, PSC executed clean volleyball and ended the regular season on a high note with 44 team kills across three sets.
Statistical Highlights:
- Woolf led with 10 kills and nine digs
- RS Sofia Ortiz added nine kills, while MB Danielle Lee contributed eight
- Schuessler tallied 22 assists; Judge added 16 assists and two aces
- Danforth anchored the defense with 11 digs and six assists
- Freshman OH Ella Pinches made a standout contribution with four kills, nine digs, and an impressive 49 service receptions
