The Pirates are excited to announce the addition of Assistant Coach Christoph Zeller to the 2025-26 coaching staff. Bringing a wealth of playing experience, leadership, and local roots, Zeller is set to make an immediate impact on the program both on and off the field.
Born in Biel, Switzerland, Zeller grew up playing in the competitive Swiss youth club system before moving to Pensacola, Florida. Upon arriving, he joined Pensacola Futbol Club and quickly became a standout leader, captaining both his Tate High School team and his club teams throughout his high school career.
Zeller went on to play collegiate soccer at the University of West Florida, where he continued to showcase his talent, discipline, and leadership. He graduated with a degree in Exercise Science, combining his academic knowledge with his passion for the game to prepare for a career in coaching and player development.
Following his collegiate career, Zeller remained deeply involved in the sport, coaching various youth teams in the Pensacola area while also pursuing his professional ambitions. On the field, he played for Pensacola FC during its first four seasons, later making his U.S. Open Cup qualifying debut with Port City.
Away from soccer, Christoph is a devoted family man—married to his wife Emily and a proud father of three boys. He lives on a farm, where he also runs his own business, balancing his entrepreneurial endeavors with his commitment to the sport he loves.
Head Coach Mark Yepishin says, "I'm thrilled to welcome Christoph to the Pirates family. I'm confident that his experience, passion, and deep ties to the local soccer community will inspire and develop the next generation of Pirates players."
