Pensacola State came out firing in the opening quarter, building an early eight‑point lead behind aggressive defense and quick transition offense. The Lady Pirates set the tone early, forcing turnovers and capitalizing on fastbreak opportunities to take control in the first period.
Northwest Florida responded in the middle quarters, chipping away at the deficit and eventually taking the lead. Pensacola State remained within striking distance, trailing by just six points heading into the fourth quarter. However, a pair of timely three‑pointers by NWF early in the final frame swung the momentum and helped the Raiders pull away.
Cassidy Gladney led Pensacola State offensively, recording a team‑high 16 points while adding five rebounds. Tamya Hutchinson also reached double figures with 14 points and five rebounds and was active on the defensive end, leading the Lady Pirates with three steals. Amari Johnson contributed seven points and four rebounds in the effort.
