After a sluggish start that saw the Pirates trailing 20–9 early, the team displayed remarkable resilience and composure to turn the tide and secure a commanding 82–66 win. Despite early foul trouble and conceding 14 free throws in the first half, they entered halftime down 40–36. But the second half told a different story.
Fueled by a dominant offensive surge and tightened defensive execution, Pensacola outscored the Indians by 20 points after the break, flipping the momentum and closing out the game with authority.
Leading the charge were standout performances from Deven Bates and Ethan McDonald, who each tallied 25 points. Bates was a model of efficiency, shooting 10-for-15 from the field and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, while also dishing out a team-high seven assists to orchestrate the offense. McDonald provided his own spark, going 8-for-12 from the floor and an impressive 7-for-11 from three-point range, along with six rebounds.
This win was a testament to the Pirate's toughness, poise, and high-level execution in critical moments. PSC will look to build momentum when they face Mississippi Gulf Coast on Saturday at 5:00 P.M.
