Men's Basketball Beats NWF 82-64
PSC hosted Northwest Florida State College and came away with a stellar 82-64 win.
On Wednesday March 3rd, PSC hosted Northwest Florida State College and came away with a stellar 82-64 win. Northwest Florida kept the game close in the first half, but a buzzer beating halftime 3 by Terry Durham put the pirates up 49-37 after the break. In the second half the Raiders cut the lead to 5 at one point but the Pirates never folded and were able to pull away despite the comeback from NWF. The pirates had 4 players score in double figures and were led by Terry Durham who poured in 22 points and added 11 rebounds (including 3 offensive). DJ McKenzie added 19 points off the bench and going 3-4 from 3. Brett Thompson added 12 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds, while Cheickna Sissoko also added 10 points. Tedrick Washington added a nice spark off the Pirates bench contributing 9 points and adding 5 assists.
Overall, the pirates shot 47% from the field while also shooting 47% from the three point line. As a team the Pirates did a really good job sharing the ball as they totaled 25 assists for the game, while also grabbing 10 offensive rebounds. The Pirates had a huge bench performance outscoring NWF's bench 32 to 13. NWF was led by Alonzo Gaffney with 20 points. The Pirates play at Chipola on Saturday March 6th.
