Game 1: PSC 12 FSW 6
The Pensacola State Pirates came out swinging and never looked back, stunning the #7-ranked Florida Southwestern State Buccaneers with a 12-6 win in the opening round of the Fort Myers Regional. With the victory, PSC moves one step closer to the FCSAA Final Four, needing just one more win to advance.
The Pirates wasted no time setting the tone, stringing together five hits in the top of the 1st inning to jump out to a 4-0 lead. Their aggressive approach at the plate rattled the Bucs early and gave PSC the confidence boost they needed.
FSW clawed back to take a 5-4 lead by the end of the 4th, capitalizing on a couple of PSC defensive miscues. But the Pirates didn't flinch. In the 6th, they erupted for five more runs, again stringing together five hits—including three straight RBI singles—to reclaim the lead at 9-5.
PSC added a solo home run in the 7th and a two-run shot in the 8th to put the game out of reach. The Pirates outhit the Bucs 13-9 and showed great plate discipline, drawing 10 walks from FSW pitching. Lincoln Pack was 3-for-6 and Jaden Gummersbach was 2-for-4 with a triple and home run.
Pitching was solid for the Pirates, with Bradley Link earning the win going 3.2 innings, striking out three and allowing no runs.
Game 2: FSW 11 PSC 3
The Pirates fell behind early and could not fight their way back in game two. PSC's offense struggled, but the bright spots were Lincoln Pack and Jaden Gummersbach with both recording two hits.
Game 3: PSC 3 FSW 9
The Buccaneers clinched the series and will advance to the FCSAA Championships Final Four. Pensacola took a 3-0 lead into the third before FSW got on the board with one run. They proceeded to tie the game in the fourth before securing the lead in the sixth and never giving it up. Mason Onate led the PSC offense going 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Kaden Wilks contributed two RBI.
