Kasey Scott is a Pensacola native and incoming freshman for the 2019 Pensacola State volleyball team. The Tate High School graduate is planning to study Sociology or Criminal Justice.
Scott was born and raised in Pensacola and has decided to stay close to home for college. On deciding to stay in Pensacola Scott says, "I visited several schools in the Southeast and I kept coming back to how nice Pensacola is with the beach, downtown, music and arts involved with the city. Pensacola is a beautiful place that most people dream about living. I've been to Pensacola State volleyball camps since I was younger and I just love the staff and campus. Pensacola State will give me the opportunity to play the sport I love while getting a quality education." She believes, "It was less about staying close to home and more about finding a place that provides me with opportunities to grow and learn. I want to travel and learn about other cultures. Pensacola has evolved into a collection of people from diverse backgrounds with the military and businesses that are here. This will be a great stepping stone for me to see the rest of the world. My journey begins here at PSC."
Scott is excited to contribute to the team this fall with her passion for the sport, a will to win and competitive spirit. She is most excited about playing on a collegiate volleyball team and being able to represent an amazing institution. She loves that the coaches are so involved and are more personal with the players. Scott is also excited that she is coming in with a large freshman class, because it gives us lots of room to grow and for us to get to know each other on and off the court. Her goals for this season are to win a conference championship and be a go to player for the team. After leaving PSC her plans are to continue her education and collegiate volleyball career at a 4-year university.
In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach, listening to music and reading. Kasey is a member of Milestone Baptist Church, a volunteer at Miracle League of Pensacola, and attends beach cleanups. She also worked various youth activities through Pensacola Sports.
"I am excited for Kasey to join our team this fall. At 5'11' I expect Kasey to be a dominant player at the net. I believe Kasey will adapt to the college game quickly because of her high volleyball IQ, dependability and competitiveness on the court. She will be a fun player to watch this upcoming season." - Head Coach Jennifer Belarmino
