PSC Volleyball was hosted by the University of West Florida Argonauts on Sunday in a friendly crosstown scrimmage. Coach Chris Laird used many lineups and rotations for the purpose of getting everyone ready for the season. The Pirates were very excited to get out on the court and face a quality opponent.
"It was very exciting to compete against someone other than ourselves yesterday. UWF is a fantastic program and showed us what our strengths and weaknesses are," Coach Laird said after the match. "We're deeper this season compared to the last few years and I'm expecting to have many contributors to our success this season."
The Pirates are joined by eleven newcomers to compliment the returning four sophomores and have added height and depth to the squad. They'll have a short break from competition before their next scrimmage on Wednesday. "We're looking forward to two productive days of practice before scrimmaging against Spring Hill College on Wednesday. Former Pirate starting setter, Hannah Fromdahl is on the Spring Hill roster. We're looking forward to seeing Hannah show off her skills at the next level. I expect the Badgers to be well prepared and ready to compete."
The Pirates will officially kick off the 2017 campaign on August 29th as they host the Coastal Alabama Community College – Brewton, formerly Jeff Davis Community College. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
