Offense Comes Alive in 14-9 Victory Over Gulf Coast

Pensacola State would slug 21 hits in 14-9 victory over Gulf Coast on Saturday. With the game tied at two, Pensacola would break through with four runs in the sixth inning to jump out to a 6-2 lead. One inning later, the Pirates would extend thier lead to 9-3 thanks to a two-run homerun by Fausto Lopez. Gulf Coast would cut the Pirate lead to 9-8 with five runs in the bottom of the seventh but Pensacola would hit back to back homeruns from Chayce Bryant and Bryan Eusebio to extend the Pirate lead to four. 

DJ Wilkinson got his third win of the season for the Pirates on the mound. The sophomore went 5.2 innings allowing only three runs while striking out seven. 

Seven Pirate hitters would record double digit hits on the day. Sean Ross would go 2-4 and drive in his team-leading 42nd RBI of the Year. Chayce Bryant was a single away from recording a cycle for the Pirates. His 3-6, HR, and 2RBI's would help seal the win for the Pirates. 

Pensacola will finish the season this weekend with 2 games against Tallahassee on Friday and Saturday.
