Pensacola State hosted Chipola for the final regural season contest between the two teams. Pensacola State watched the game slip away early in a 7-3 loss to Chipola. Four free passes in the very first inning would lead to two Chipola runs. The Indians would plate five more runs over the next two innings to take a commanding 7-1 lead through three innings. PSC would rally in the bottom of the ninth bringing the tying run to the plate but the Indians would get a strikeout to end the game.
Jake Sweeney would record the loss on the mound for PSC. The lefty would go two and a third innings while giving up 6 runs on two hits. Three relievers would blank Indian hitters the rest of the way.
PSC would out-hit Chipola seven hits to three. Chayce Bryant would record three hits and an RBI for PSC.
The Pirates will be back home Friday against Gulf Coast at 2:00pm.
