Pensacola State split Satudray's double header by taking game one 13-8 and dropping game two 1-0. The Pirates are now 15-21 on the year and 2-9 in the Panhandle Conference.
In game 1, PSC would come out swinging in the very first inning. With two on Angel Diaz would hit a three-run homerun to left to give the Pirates a 3-0 lead. For Diaz, it would be his fourth long ball this year. The very next batter would be Ryan Brewer and he would send a 3-2 fastball over the left field wall to extend the Pirate lead. The Pirates would put the game away for good with 8 runs in the sixth inning. The big blow would come from a grand slam from Ryan Brewer, his second of the game. Tyson Ellis would get the win on the mound for Pensacola going 6 innings allowing 4 runs and strikeout 4.
In game two, the Pirate bats would go cold as they would have several opportunities to drive in runs but couldn't come up with a big hit. Pirate pitchers would only allow one hit and one run in the loss. Pensacola could only manage four hits in the game.
The Pirates will finish the series with Gulf Coast on Tuesday at 5:00 in Pensacola.
