Pars for Pirates a Success

Pars for Pirates a Success

By: Hailey Lotz

Pensacola State College Athletics hosted the Pars for Pirates 8th Annual Golf Tournament last week and it was a huge success. While it was definitely a little warm out, the sun was shining and it was a nearly perfect day for golf.

We had another great turn out and our teams had a wonderful time!

We can't say thank you enough to all of the businesses that came out to offer their services. We had so many tee sponsors, hole sponsors, team sponsors and more!

We would like to recognize a few of our special contributors below:

Marcus Pointe Golf Club – allowing us to host our tournament at their beautiful course and giving us donated prizes.

Buffalo Wild Wings – providing lunch to all of our golfers as well as PSC staff

Central Credit Union of Florida – setting up a tent and having a drawing for several prizes

Moe's Southwest Grill - setting up a free 'chip bar' for hungry golfers

Hemingway's Island Grill of Pensacola Beach – providing a refreshing mixed drink and delicious key lime pie

Select Physical Therapy – sponsoring a team, giving golfers tips right on the course and providing a prize for 'closest to the pin'

Bamboo Willie's Pensacola Beach – setting up their 190 Octane drink machine on the course for our golfers

Miller's Ale House – providing a wonderful spread for dinner for all the golfers and hanging out and giving us a prize for the 'closest to the sign' contest

Sports Clips – setting up on the golf course and having a 'year of haircuts' prize to one lucky winner

Astro Lincoln – not only did they represent us with a team on the course they had everyone's attention bringing two beautiful Lincoln SUVs and having more than one chance at a hole in one prize

Texas Roadhouse – brought their mascot and had the 'longest putt' prize

Underwood Anderson & Associates, Inc. – gave golfers a unique oportunity to better their game by purchasing 'insurance' on a hole that would guarantee a good shot no matter what
